The Genome - 4th Edition

The fourth edition of The Genome highlights key advancements in Pakistan’s biosafety landscape, including the landmark approval and publication of SOPs for cross-bred GM variety.

This edition also showcases Pak-BCH’s digital transformation with the official launch of its online portal, designed to streamline GM application processes. Complemented by nationwide capacity-building sessions for Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs), the initiative promotes paperless operations, transparency, and regulatory efficiency.

In addition, the newsletter covers recent NBC and TAC meetings, where multiple cases involving laboratory manipulation work, field trials, commercialization, and FFP imports were reviewed and recommended, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to science-led, sustainable biosafety governance.
